Dental crowns are designed to cover and protect the remaining structure of a single tooth. Our team is likely to recommend their creation in a variety of different instances, including:
- When a tooth has suffered a significant injury or fracture
- When a tooth is badly weakened and is at risk of breakage
- When a tooth is heavily decayed and cannot be treated with a typical filling
- When a tooth has a serious cosmetic flaw, such as misshapen structure
- When a lost tooth has been replaced with a dental implant and requires a restoration
Crowns are also an important component of dental bridges. Bridges can serve as a sturdy and permanent replacement for missing teeth that appear in a row, and they are held in place within the mouth by placing dental crowns over healthy teeth on either side of the gap. Alternatively, we can use dental implants to retain the bridge for better oral health results and longevity.Learn more about Dental Bridges
Instead of traditional amalgam, our practice is proud to offer a composite resin alternative that is beautifully tooth-colored and free of potentially harmful mercury. The flexibility of these fillings allows us to preserve even more of your tooth’s remaining healthy structure, and their metal-free nature makes them much less sensitive to overly hot or cold temperatures too.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy may be necessary when a patient has a tooth that has become badly decayed and/or traumatically injured. Our goal will be to access the inner pulp of the tooth and remove harmful bacteria from this area. After we have thoroughly cleaned the tooth and sealed it shut, a custom-made dental crown is attached on top so that the tooth’s strength and ability to function are renewed.Learn more about Root Canals
While the Devoted Family Dental team will do everything in their power to help patients maintain their natural teeth, extraction can sometimes become an unfortunate necessity. For instance, maybe a certain tooth is experiencing advanced decay or a severe injury that cannot be rehabilitated. Whatever your situation is, you can trust in our staff to carry out your extraction procedure in a smooth and comfortable manner. We offer amenities like sedation dentistry and pain-free anesthetic delivery when needed to help patients feel truly at ease.Learn more about Tooth Extractions
Wisdom Tooth Extractions
Your third molars (more commonly known as “wisdom teeth”) are the last permanent teeth to emerge from the jaw. They usually arrive when a patient is somewhere between the ages of 16 and 22. However, this is often not a happy occasion, as these teeth are likely to become impacted (partially or fully trapped inside the jawbone) or dangerously overcrowded. During regular appointments, our doctors will be sure to keep a close eye on developing wisdom teeth and recommend extraction as needed for the sake of your safety.
